Inspired by the elegant and age-old tradition of embroidering one's initials on napkins, handkerchiefs, shirt pockets or cuffs, handbags and other personal items, we decided to create a modern version of the monogrammed napkin. We pulled a vintage Cyrillic alphabet from our personal archives and converted the letters into their Latin counterparts. We had to lose some, and gain some (it is not exactly a direct equivalency), and then created these block print designs with water-based inks on oatmeal color linen. We think they would make a perfect substitute for a traditional name card at a table, or a keepsake for your guests.
